Product Overview
The Lamy Studio takes a different approach to the same design tradition — an all-metal body with a slim, gently curved silhouette that reads as understated rather than minimal for its own sake. Every case part flows into the next with no hard seams, giving the pen a continuous, almost molded look in the hand.
The signature detail is the clip: propeller-shaped and subtly curved, it breaks from the pen's otherwise straightforward form with a bit of visual tension — the one place where the design allows itself some personality. In this Imperial Blue finish, the clip and cap band are polished chrome, giving a brighter, more reflective contrast against the matte body than the black version's tonal look. Each pen is hand-assembled at Lamy's workshop in Heidelberg, and the line is refreshed with special editions regularly, which is part of why it's become a favorite among collectors as well as everyday writers.
Finished in a matte dark blue lacquer with a polished steel nib, the Imperial Blue brings a bit more color and shine to the Studio line while keeping the same understated proportions.
Like the rest of the Studio line, it uses cartridges or a converter rather than a piston-fill system — it comes included with one Lamy T10 blue ink cartridge and a Lamy Z27 converter, so it's ready to fill from a bottle or swap in a fresh cartridge right out of the box.
