The A7 MD Notebook (Grid) shares the same MD Paper foundation as the rest of the line — cover, endpapers, and inner pages all cut from the same fountain-pen-safe stock Midori's been refining since the 1960s, resistant to bleed-through and feathering even under a wet nib.
The grid itself is the detail worth noticing: a 5mm pattern in light blue-grey, spaced with a slight gap between squares that echoes old Japanese manuscript paper rather than standard graph ruling. Tick marks every 5 and 10 squares make it easy to count characters at a glance — useful if you're drafting prose and tracking length as you go. The lines sit light enough on the page that they guide without competing with ink, so the grid works equally well for straight writing or the occasional sketch.
Thread-sewn binding opens fully flat at any page, and at 105 x 74mm it's built to travel — bag pouch or breast pocket, ready whenever the next entry, hobby log, or draft needs somewhere to go.
